His MMA record is now 26-4, with 13 wins and 3 losses in the UFC, and he’s regarded as one of the best featherweights of all time.
Diego Lopes
Diego Lopes lost his UFC debut in a close fight with Evloev that was named the fight of the night. Since then, he’s proved he’s champion calibre by winning 5 fights in a row, including 3 first-round stoppages. His last fight was an impressive performance against Brian Ortega, and his overall record is now 26-6. The title challenger is always exciting to watch too, with a willingness to try to finish every fight.
Michael Chandler
Chandler was a two-time Bellator champion and entered the UFC in 2021, winning a performance of the night bonus in his first fight as he stopped Dan Hooker in the first round. Since then, however, he’s only won 1 fight while losing 4, although each of those losses has been awarded a fight of the night bonus. He’s now 23-9 in his professional MMA career.
Paddy Pimblett
Paddy Pimblett was a Cage Warriors champion and has a big following with fight fans. His debut UFC fight was in 2021, where he picked up a performance of the night bonus with a first-round KO, and he followed it up with 2 consecutive submission wins. He’s undefeated in 6 UFC fights and most recently secured an impressive round one triangle submission against King Green.

Volkanovski was an incredibly dominant champion, holding the best for 4 years and defending it 5 times. While he lost both fights against Islam Makhachev at lightweight, the first was incredibly close and won a fight of the night bonus. Unfortunately, he was KO’d by Ilia Topuria, but now that he’s moving up to lightweight, he’ll have a chance to hold the belt once more.
Lopes has become a major fan favourite since he arrived in the UFC in 2023, fighting 6 times, winning 5 fights and stopping 3 opponents. He hits hard and has a great submission threat too. However, his defence has looked suspect at times, which is why Volkanovski is the favourite, according to the latest MMA odds.

Since he came to the UFC, Chandler has picked up an impressive number of bonuses and hasn’t had a single boring fight. However, he sat out for 2 years waiting for a fight with McGregor, which never came, and has lost 4 of his 6 UFC fights. He’s now facing a young up-and-comer, and while it will be fun to watch, the UFC odds aren’t in his favour.
Pimblett is an interesting fighter who relied a lot on his submissions early in his career but has clearly worked hard on his striking as the years have gone by. He may not be championship calibre, but he’s fun to watch and is the favourite in this matchup.
