2025 ATP Shanghai Masters Predictions & Tennis Picks
With the world’s best descending on Shanghai this October, there will be some thrills and spills guaranteed. However, there are certainly some top picks that will be hoping to go all the way and claim one of the most prestigious Tour-level tournaments.
Here are our top selections to go all the way or at least go far in the tournament:
Carlos Alcaraz
Sitting at the very pinnacle of the top 10 in the rankings, Alcaraz is Spain’s new Rafael Nadal. He is leading the way in the 2025 ATP Tour with seven titles and nine finals, including two Grand Slams, with wins at the French Open and US Open, and a final loss at Wimbledon. He will be looking to cement that place with a win here.
Jannik Sinner
Losing to Alcaraz at Indian Wells will hurt for a man who has won both Wimbledon and the Australian Open in 2025. That loss will likely spur him on, especially as he is the current holder of the Shanghai Masters, and holding on to it will cement his legacy. He’s a two-time Davis Cup winner, so he will push hard all the way.
Alexander Zverev
The German will consider 2025 something of a poor year, despite coming as close as ever to a first Grand Slam in his Aussie Open loss to Sinner. He’s yet to claim a final win this year, so clinching the Shanghai Masters from the third seed would be a great remedy for that.
Novak Djokovic
Djokovic is the record holder for this tournament. He has won it a total of four times, and pulling away from Andy Murray’s three would be a great way to rubber-stamp his legacy as he comes to the end of an illustrious career. The Serb will also be looking for a first win of the year, and it could be here.
