What is the CrossFire Stars World Championship?
CrossFire Stars is the world championship of competitive CrossFire, featuring high-stakes action every round as opposing teams battle for victory. As a tactical first-person shooter (FPS) game, players in CrossFire must work together with their teammates to either attack or defend the objective. Both teams feature 5 players, and the round is won when a team wipes out their opponents or achieves their objective.
The CrossFire Stars tournament is held annually and features 16 teams that compete across 2 stages. It’s organised by Smilegate, the developers of the game, along with Hero Esports and Tencent Games.
Format & Structure of CrossFire Stars 2025
3-5 December - Group Stage
The group stage of CrossFire Stars 2025 takes place at the Chengdu Liangzijie Esports Center and features 12 teams split into four groups. Each team plays their group opponents once in a best of 3 match format. The winners of the groups automatically advance to the playoffs.
6-14 December - Playoffs
The top 8 playoffs take place at the Chengdu Liangzijie Esports Center while the top 4 playoffs are hosted by the Cengdu Financial City Area. The top 4 teams from the group stage join the 4 teams that earned an automatic bye to the playoffs. Each of the regional finals winners are randomly paired with one of the group stage winners. This stage is a double-elimination bracket, with matches played to the best of 5 games.
After the upper bracket semifinals and lower bracket round 2 have been played, there’s a day off 12 December, before the playoffs resume with round 2, leading to the lower bracket semifinal, upper bracket final, lower bracket final and the Grand Final. The winning team takes the top prize of $500,000.
2025 Team Performance Recap
KINGZERO-eSports won season 25 of the CrossFire Pro League, while All Gamers won the China Regional Finals, Al Qadsiah won the Brazil Regional Finals, Twisted Minds won the Vietnam Regional Finals, and Gaimin Gladiators won the EUMENA Regional Finals.
BaiSha Gaming won one of the biggest tournaments of the CrossFire Esports calendar in 2025, achieving victory at the Asian Champions League. In addition, they were crowned champions of the CrossFire Pro League Season 26. However, they finished runners-up in the Esports World Cup, losing out to All Gamers.
Crossfire EWC 2025 Recap
All Gamers won the Esports World Cup, beating their rivals BaiSha Gaming in the Grand Final to win a $750,000 prize. Doo picked up the tournament MVP award thanks to his excellent performances throughout the competition.
Due to All Gamers winning the EWC 2025, China earned 4 slots for the CrossFire Stars 2025 tournament.
