Justin Gaethje

Justin “The Highlight” Gaethje has lived up to his nickname and is a fan favourite in the UFC thanks to his exciting fighting style that has seen him win 67% of his UFC fights by KO/TKO while winning 14 performance bonuses. In fact, over the course of his 26-5 professional career, Gaethje has only fought to a decision 5 times. He previously became interim champion in 2020 by stopping Tony Ferguson, but lost to Khabib Nurmagomedov and was also beaten by Charles Oliveira in a title fight.

Paddy Pimblett

Pimblett was a major prospect in Cage Warriors from a young age and was touted as a future potential UFC champion. Since arriving in the UFC, he’s gone on to win all 7 of his fights, including impressive stoppages over King Green and Michael Chandler. Paddy’s main strength is his submission grappling, but his striking has improved a lot recently too. However, some feel that he was unfairly given the title shot despite his best win being over Michael Chandler.

Kayla Harrison

Kayla Harrison is a 2-time Olympic gold medalist and 2-time PFL tournament champion. After dominating the PFL, Harrison joined the UFC in 2024, finishing Holly Holm by rear naked choke in her first fight before defeating Ketlen Vieira and then winning the title from Julianna Peña. Her title win was her 8th professional win by submission and brought her career record up to 19-1. She has so far looked significantly better than any opponent in her division, with her background in Olympic judo making her an incredibly strong grappler.

Amanda Nunes

Nunes is regarded by many as the greatest women’s MMA fighter of all time. Over the course of her career, she built a record of 23-5 and held belts in the women’s bantamweight and featherweight divisions. Nunes also defended the bantamweight strap a total of 5 times, and although she lost the belt to Julianna Peña in 2021, she regained it a few months later by defeating Peña in the rematch. After defending the belt once more in 2023, she retired, but is now coming back to face Kayla Harrison.

This is an intriguing matchup between one of the old guards of the lightweight division and an up-and-comer. Gaethje has been one of the top-ranked lightweights since he arrived in the promotion back in 2017 and has previously fought for the title 3 times. This will likely be one of the last chances for him to hold the belt, with a unification bout against Ilia Topuria likely in the future.

Pimblett has shown great skills since arriving in the UFC in 2024, finishing 5 of his 7 opponents and winning every fight. However, his recent wins have mainly been against fighters in the twilight of their careers. Despite this, he’s the betting favourite according to the latest UFC odds. This is likely because Gaethje is heading towards retirement and has also shown a weakness to submissions, an area in which Pimblett excels.

Co-Main Event

Nunes ruled the women’s bantamweight division for 5 years and also cleared out the women’s featherweight division. There’s no doubt she’s one of the best women’s MMA fighters of all time. However, she’s been retired for more than 2 years, and that time away from the Octagon could have a major impact on her abilities.

Not only is Nunes coming back from a long time out of the cage, but she’s also going to be facing her toughest ever opponent. Harrison is an incredible grappler who has only lost one fight in her MMA career. As such, Harrison is the MMA odds betting favourite in this matchup. We expect it to be a good fight, but Harrison may just prove to be too good for Nunes.
