Weili won the strawweight title in only her 4th fight in the UFC when she defeated Jessica Andrade. She lost her title to Rose Namajunas, but won it back from Carla Esparza a year later before going on to record title defences over Amanda Lemon, Xiaonan Yan and Tatiana Suarez. Weili’s MMA career record now stands at 26-3, with 10 wins and 2 losses in the UFC. She also has a 40% stoppage rate, with 2 KO/TKO wins and 2 submission wins in the UFC.

She’ll now attempt to become a two-weight world champion, and the MMA odds currently have her as a slight favourite. Over her UFC career, she’s averaged 2 takedowns per fight, and that will likely be her game plan to defeat Valentina.
