Magomed Ankalaev
Ankalaev has long been one of the top contenders in the division and is undefeated in the UFC since his debut against Paul Craig back in 2018. His professional MMA record now stands at 20-1-1, and he’s won 4 bonuses in 11 UFC fights. Ankalaev will now get a chance at the belt after his last 2 fights saw him impressively KO Johhny Walker and win a unanimous decision against Aleksandar Rakic.
Justin Gaethje
Justin, the Highlight, Gaethje is aptly named, with the lightweight fighter winning 13 bonuses in 13 UFC fights. His 25-5 professional record includes impressive KO wins over Dustin Poirier, Edson Barboza and Tony Ferguson. Dan Hooker
Dan Hooker is another lightweight fighter who has made a name for himself with his tenacity and love of violence. Currently, the MMA odds have it even.
Co-Main Event
While everyone is understandably excited for the main event, the co-main could be just as exciting, if not better. These are two fighters who have a reputation for all-out action fighting. Gaethje may no longer be in the title picture, but he’s still one of the best in the division, as he proved with his wins over Poirier and Fiziev.
Hooker has previously failed to overcome the challenge of the top-ranked lightweights, but he looks better than ever in his last few fights and is impossible to count out. Even when he’s losing, he never gives in. The UFC odds show Hooker is the betting underdog, but either fighter could win, and it’s a must-watch for any fight fan.
