UFC 302 will take place on June 1st, 2024, at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, USA. The main card is scheduled to start at 10 PM ET and will be available live on UFC Fight Pass.
Major Fighters in UFC 302
The highlight of the night is a lightweight title fight between Dustin Poirier and titleholder Islam Makhachev. This will be Makhachev’s third title defence after beating Alexander Volkanovski back-to-back in the 2 previous Lightweight title fights, UFC 284 and UFC 294. He is currently the betting favourite, with lower UFC 302 odds, and will likely stay the favourite until the night of the fight.
The American will be looking to inflict the second career defeat to one of the most dominant MMA fighters recently. A Middleweight fight between Paulo Costa and former champion Sean Strickland will take place as the co-main event of the night.
The card will feature three more PPV fights before the main and co-main events. Heavyweights Jailton Almeida and Alexander Romanov will face off after Alexander Volkov was rebooked for the UFC 303 on ABC event three weeks later.
Russian Middleweight fighter Roman Kopylov will be looking for his comeback after a defeat in the UFC 298 event 4 months ago. His opponent, Cesar Almeida, remains the only undefeated fighter in the main card.
Welterweight Randy Brown and Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos complete the fight card in a bout scheduled to take place right before the co-main event. The night is a prelude to UFC 303 and the long-awaited return of Conor McGregor in his bout against Michael Chandler.
