Introduction to CrossFire Stars 2025 Betting
CrossFire is a tactical first-person shooter (FPS) game, which sees two opposing teams of 5 players competing on a map to either attack or defend the objective. Attackers must plant a bomb or eliminate all of the opposing team to win the round, while the defenders win by either eliminating the opposing team, preventing the bomb plant within the time limit or defusing the bomb. Teams take turns attacking and defending for each round of the match.
The CrossFire Stars tournament is the CrossFire World Championship, featuring the world’s best players and teams. It’s organised by Smilegate, and features a prize pool of more than $1.4 million. 16 teams will compete in the tournament, qualifying through regional qualifiers and regional finals.
When is the CrossFire Stars 2025 World Championship?
The 2025 CrossFire Stars World Championship begins on 3 December with the group stage. Top teams advance to the playoffs, and the Grand Final takes place on 14 December to decide the champions.
History of the CrossFire Stars
CrossFire was released in South Korea in 2007 by Smilegate Entertainment, and Smilegate launched the CrossFire Stars tournament in 2013 as the official world championships. Season 1 of CrossFire Stars offered a $180,000 prize pool, but by 2022, the prize fund had surpassed $1 million.
Although the CrossFire Stars 2025 tournament features 16 teams, this hasn’t always been the case. In 2014, the World Championship featured 14 participants, while the 2020 CrossFire Stars was contested between just 8 teams.
So far, every tournament has been held in either China or South Korea. Chengdu has hosted the tournament 3 times, including the upcoming 2025 World Championship.
All Gamers and BaiSha Gaming are the joint-most successful CrossFire Stars teams, having each won the tournament twice. All Gamers have also finished as runners-up on 2 separate occasions.

Format and Schedule of the CrossFire Stars 2025 World Championship
Group Stage
12 teams enter the group stage, with 4 groups each containing 3 teams. Matches in this stage are played to the best of 3 games, with group opponents facing each other once. The 4 winners of each group qualify for the playoffs.
Playoffs
The top 4 teams from the group stage enter the playoffs along with the 4 regional finals winners that earned automatic byes to this round. The regional finals winners will be paired with one of the group stage winners at random. This stage uses a double-elimination bracket, and matches are played to the best of 5 games.
