What is the ESL Pro League Tournament?
The ESL Pro League is the biggest Counter-Strike tournament, featuring the best CS2 teams competing across multiple stages for a $1 million prize pool. Teams are invited to the event based on their performance at previous events, or enter through open and closed qualifiers. Every year, 24 teams enter the tournament, but only one can be crowned the ESL Pro League champion.
Format & Structure
Throughout the tournament, teams will compete in matches that are played to the best of 3 games. However, the Grand Final will be played to the best of 5. The following maps will be part of the map pool for the entire tournament:

ESL Pro League Season 22 will feature 3 stages:
Stage 1 - 27 September-1 October
Stage 1 is a Swiss system with 5 rounds. 16 teams enter, but 8 will progress to the next round.
Stage 2 - 3-7 October
8 teams from Stage 1 are joined by 8 teams that automatically qualified. Once more, teams will play through 5 rounds of a Swiss system, with half being eliminated and the final 8 making the playoff spots.
Playoffs - 9-12 October
The final 8 teams compete in a single-elimination bracket, with the final 2 teams competing in the Grand Final over a best-of-5 series.
ESL Pro League Season 21 Recap
Team Vitality were crowned champions of Season 21, remaining undefeated through the competition as they only dropped a single map between the opening stage and the playoffs. Vitality defeated MOUZ in the Grand Final, winning 3-0 to achieve their 2nd ESL Pro League victory. The win was a team effort, but ZywOo stood out, winning the tournament MVP award thanks to his exceptional performances.

Team Vitality - 2-time winners of the ESL Pro League and the current defending champion. Team Vitality is the betting favourite right now. This year, Vitality also won the ESL Grand Slam Season 5 and IEM Katowice.

MOUZ - Although MOUZ has won the ESL Pro League 3 times, it hasn’t won since Season 19 and was defeated in the Season 21 final. This year, the team won PGL Cluj-Napoca and is currently the 5th favourite to win Season 22 of the ESL Pro League.
