F1 Tips and Predictions: 2022 Italian Grand Prix

Could it be? Is tonight the night where Charles Leclerc gets back on track in the Championship fight? Maybe.

Formula 1 heads to Monza tonight with one of the more intriguing races of the season.

While it is true that since Austria, Max Verstappen has looked imperious; there’s something about the prancing horse on home soil that strikes fear into their oponents. And Leclerc took pole on his merits in yesterday’s Qualifying session.

Combine that with another slew of engine penalties and we are sure to see an exciting race tonight.

Verstappen will start from a manageable P6, while Perez (13th), Sainz (18th) and Hamilton (19th) all look to have the job ahead from further down the grid.

In terms of our punting options, Group 2 is an interesting one compromised of Perez, Hamilton, Norris and Alonso.

With the traffic in between Norris and his rivals, combined with the strong performance of Mclaren at this track last year, the $3.50 for Norris to win the group looks attractive.

Pierre Gasly starts P5 so while it’s quite clear cars will pass him in the early stages, $2.15 to finish in the points (Top 10) is another option well worth considering.

Finally, if you’re looking for a more exotic bet type, Nicholas Latifi is out of position in P10 so might be worth an interest to be the first driver retirement at $12.
